Unlocking Math Through Play: The Hands-On Mathlab Experience

Mathematics through situations and visuals

Our RS Mathlab project comprises of state of the art educational equipment that forms a laboratory. It helps students develop the mathematical ideas quickly, and connect these ideas to question solving methodology or procedure. All the equipment is designed by professional curriculum experts and made up of high quality material ensuring the safety measures to be intact. Each set of equipment comes with its manual that also includes a detailed teachers’ manual as well. This resource is highly suitable for ensuring to maintain the teaching standards within a school environment and also across the system for multi branched institutions or franchised chain school system. It also enables the system to facilitate new teachers in maintaining systems’ standard of teaching Mathematics.

Our state of the art lab equipment helps teachers develop the topic from concrete objects, i.e. from life itself. We believe that teaching the formulas and rules first and then trying to pin the formulas in some life situation is a non-organic way to teach Mathematics. Mathlab enables the learning to be developed and raised from the situations and things i.e. the concrete objects. So, the students manipulate the ideas and learn to write those ideas from life in coded form, i.e. in mathematical way. No formulas to remember, no lots of practice questions to be solved, no hazards of high volume homework and exam practice is needed anymore. Students simply learn to write and manipulate life ideas in symbolic form, as they do in science subjects.

Mathlab is the best way to teach Mathematics in visual way, the best way to let the learners SEE math, to permeate it to their brains and to own it as a life long learning.

The Impacts of RS Mathlab

RS Mathlab transforms classrooms into laboratories of discovery. Our Hands-On Math Lab program equips schools with a unique learning environment that bridges the gap between abstract concepts and tangible experiences.

A Playground for Mathematical Minds:
The Mathlab goes beyond traditional textbooks, providing students with a vibrant space filled with engaging manipulatives. These manipulatives – physical objects designed for mathematical exploration – serve as stepping stones, helping students grasp complex mathematical ideas through concrete experiences.

From the Real World to the Classroom:
Our program draws inspiration from everyday life, incorporating manipulatives that mirror real-world objects. Students might use interlocking cubes to visualize fractions, build geometric shapes with colorful tiles, or explore measurement concepts with balance scales and measuring instruments. These real-life connections make math more approachable and relevant to students’ experiences.

Building a Foundation of Understanding:
The Mathlab fosters a Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) learning approach. Students begin by interacting with concrete manipulatives, then move on to visual representations like drawings and diagrams, before finally reaching the abstract world of mathematical symbols and equations. This progression allows students to develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts before delving into more theoretical applications.

Learning Through Playful Exploration:
The Mathlab environment is designed to be engaging and fun. Students become active participants in their own learning, exploring mathematical concepts through play. This playful approach fosters curiosity, encourages problem-solving, and promotes collaboration among students.

Benefits of the Hands-On Mathlab:
Deeper Conceptual Understanding: Students develop a stronger foundation in mathematical concepts through hands-on exploration.

Increased Engagement and Motivation: Math becomes an interactive and enjoyable subject for students of all learning styles.

Improved Problem-Solving Skills: The program empowers students to approach problems in a creative and analytical way.

Enhanced Critical Thinking Skills: Students learn to question, analyze, and draw conclusions based on their observations and interactions with the manipulatives.

Developing Mathematical Language: The program helps students connect physical objects with mathematical terms and symbols.

Invest in a Hands-On RS Mathlab and watch your students blossom into confident and enthusiastic mathematicians!
